I Want To Lose Weight Naturally – Ideas Considered

There are some people who seem to breeze through life, rejoicing from one triumph to the next. Whereas there are also those who live at the other end of the spectrum, and make a mess of everything they do. It usually comes down to attitude, where the victors maintain a good attitude, and the victims maintain a poor one.

To realise your target weight on a diet program, you must assume the attitude of a victor. Victims attempt actions over-cautiously, hoping for good things, but never really feeling they’re worthy of great results. However a victor has already visualised his or her success mentally before the reality catches up.

Picture two sportsmen preparing for the final match: One says “It’s my last go – I’ll give it my best efforts,” but the other one says “Winning is EVERYTHING to me.” Who’s most likely to succeed?

We can define the victor by the word OAR (Ownership, Accountability and Responsibility) – a person rowing towards success. Yet if we split up the term ‘BED’ we have the definition of a victim. This is someone who Blames other people, makes Excuses for themselves, and is in Denial about the true situation.

The victor ‘owns’ his own tasks, and doesn’t hope for someone else to take the lead. He or she makes sure they are accountable for their activities. He doesn’t take excuses from himself and is responsible for the outcome of his activities.

On the other hand the victim will always have an explanation for his lack of achievement. Slip-ups and blunders are never down to him; he assumes no control and so no responsibility. So he can always find an excuse for his lack of accomplishment. With this continual pattern of blame and excuses, the victim lives a life of complete denial, certain that he’s completely unable to do anything about where he is in life.

Slimmers about to embark on a life-changing fat loss regime should give themselves a mental work-out, to prepare for success. Thinking like a victim will simply block all chances of success.

Good or bad – attitudes are formed by repeated thoughts or experiences. Continuously repeating the right messages will result in the victor mentality. Listen to the voice inside your head – if it sounds like a victim, then stop it and verbalise why you can succeed. No one is any better than you – some have just fought their downturns and emerged victorious.

“There is no such thing as a hero, only those who rise to the occasion”. Those were the words of Winston Churchill, and they’re just as valid today. In order to maintain successful weight management, we first have to maintain a successful attitude.
