Most people are working longer hours than ever before. They spend the day at the office working at a desk, then come home and work at their computer late into the night. The variety of machines available that provide exercises for the abs are enticing but there is just no time to use them. At some point in their life most people purchase a treadmill and a rowing machine for their home and may even try to use them for awhile, but again, time and other commitments interfere with the best intentions.
The rowing machines used in gyms have more functions and are much less mobile than the lightweight machines that can be purchased for home use. Rowing machines are more focused on the abs, legs and arms. The machines can be set to create more toning to the abs if that is the area that is being addressed.
Combined with proper eating habits an individual doing exercises for abs can quickly get the six pack they desire and keep it. Except that most people don’t have time to make it to the gym regularly or eat properly. So, if a person is serious about finding exercises that will tone their abs and not cut into their other commitments they must get creative. Office exercises for abs requires only a chair and the commitment of the person who has made up their mind to get rid of their belly.
The first exercise for the abs can easily be done at one’s desk in their work chair. Just grasp the seat of the chair and lift the rear off the chair, then raise the legs (still bent as though sitting), up and down five times without dropping back into the chair. This exercise performs two really key functions. The abs and legs get exercise and the pressure on the tailbone is relieved which will help the back. A very easy exercise that can be done during breaks.
Exercises for abs number two will seem very easy when first started. But it is doing a job that will become more noticeable later. Hold a water bottle at chest level with elbows pointed outwards. Keeping the seat stationary twist to the left and then to the right several times. This exercise will strengthen the back muscles and exercise and tone those abs at the same time.
The last quick office exercise for the abs is most people’s favorite. Interlace your fingers behind you neck, arch your back and suck in the gut at the same time. Hold this position for a count of 5, then relax by leaning the shoulders forward and hanging the head in a relaxed position. This exercise strengthens the abs, stretches the back, and helps the shoulders. For a sitting down exercise it does a lot.
There are many exercises for abs that are effective and work many other parts of the body. But the most effective exercises for abs are the ones that a person can actually do in the location they are at. For many people there is not enough time in the day to go to a gym regularly and when one gets home they don’t feel like pulling out a treadmill. But exercising while sitting at a desk is an opportunity that presents itself on a daily basis.
